Budtender

Position Overview

La Mota is seeking knowledgeable, customer-focused, and driven individuals to join our team as Budtenders. As the frontline representatives of our brand, Budtenders deliver an elevated retail experience through expert product guidance, regulatory compliance, and exceptional service.

This role requires professionalism, attention to detail, and a passion for cannabis education.

Key Responsibilities

1. Customer Experience & Consultation

Greet every guest with warmth, professionalism, and confidence.

Build rapport and provide personalized recommendations based on customer goals and preferences.

Educate customers on strains, cannabinoids, terpenes, product formats, dosing, and consumption methods.

Deliver a premium retail experience that encourages repeat visits and brand loyalty.

2. Product Expertise

Maintain thorough knowledge of flower, concentrates, edibles, topicals, tinctures, vaporizers, and accessories.

Stay current on new product launches, in-house brands, and industry developments.

Clearly communicate potency, effects, onset times, and safe consumption practices.

3. Sales & Performance

Meet and exceed individual and store sales goals.

Upsell and cross-sell thoughtfully while maintaining customer trust.

Accurately process transactions using POS systems and handle cash with precision.

Support loyalty program enrollment and promotional campaigns.

4. Compliance & Regulation

Strictly adhere to all state and local cannabis regulations.

Verify customer identification and age requirements without exception.

Ensure accurate documentation of all sales and inventory transactions.

Follow all company SOPs regarding product handling and security.

5. Inventory & Merchandising

Assist with inventory counts, restocking, and product rotation.

Maintain clean, organized, and visually appealing displays.

Report discrepancies, shortages, or quality concerns promptly.

6. Health, Safety & Store Standards

Maintain a clean and professional retail environment.

Follow proper storage procedures to preserve product integrity.

Uphold all safety and sanitation standards.

7. Continuous Growth

Participate in ongoing product training and compliance updates.

Engage in company-led education sessions and vendor seminars.

Demonstrate initiative in learning about evolving cannabis science and trends.

8. Preroll Production

Produce a minimum of 50 prerolls per shift, or as directed by store management based on daily production targets.

Accurately weigh, grind, fill, and package prerolls in accordance with company SOPs and state compliance standards.

Maintain consistent quality control to ensure proper weight, tightness, appearance, and labeling accuracy.

Track production counts and report completed totals to the Keyholder or Manager on duty.

Maintain a clean, organized production station at all times.

Follow all safety, sanitation, and handling procedures to preserve product integrity.

Communicate immediately with management regarding flower shortages, equipment issues, or production delays.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent (some college coursework preferred).

1+ year customer service or retail experience preferred.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Strong attention to detail and cash-handling accuracy.

Professional appearance and reliable attendance.

Licensing Requirements

Oregon: Active OLCC Marijuana Worker Permit required.

Position Overview

La Mota is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented, and leadership-driven Keyholder to support daily retail operations. This full-time role serves as an operational extension of store management, ensuring compliance, sales performance, inventory accuracy, and production standards are consistently met.

Keyholders are trusted leaders on the sales floor. They support audits, oversee opening and closing procedures, monitor preroll production targets, and ensure budtenders are executing daily responsibilities effectively.

This position requires strong accountability, open availability, and the ability to lead by example.

Key Responsibilities

1. Store Operations & Leadership

Open and close the store according to company SOPs.

Maintain operational flow during peak and off-peak hours.

Provide floor leadership and real-time coaching to budtenders.

Ensure daily task lists and production expectations are completed.

2. Compliance & Auditing Support

Assist management with inventory audits and compliance checks.

Ensure all transactions are processed accurately and in alignment with state regulations.

Monitor adherence to OLCC (Oregon) or New Mexico cannabis regulations.

Identify and report discrepancies in inventory or documentation.

3. Preroll Production Oversight

Produce a minimum of 50 prerolls per shift, or as directed by store management based on daily production targets.

Ensure daily preroll production goals are met efficiently and accurately.

Monitor quality control standards for in-house products.

Track production counts and report progress to management.

Support workflow efficiency while maintaining compliance and product integrity.

4. Team Accountability & Performance

Ensure budtenders are fulfilling assigned tasks, including:

● Inventory restocking

● Store cleanliness

● Customer service standards

● Loyalty program promotion

● Sales performance goals

● Reinforce company expectations and operational discipline.

● Assist in training new hires and reinforcing SOPs.

5. Sales & Customer Experience

Deliver high-level customer consultations.

Lead by example in upselling and cross-selling.

Support daily sales targets and store KPIs.

De-escalate challenging customer situations professionally.

6. Inventory & Merchandising

Assist in receiving and verifying product deliveries.

Maintain organized, compliant back-of-house storage.

Ensure displays are clean, accurate, and properly stocked.

Support cycle counts and discrepancy resolution.

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years retail or supervisory experience preferred.

Prior cannabis retail experience strongly preferred.

Proven reliability and leadership ability.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Ability to multitask in a fast-paced retail environment.

Comfortable holding peers accountable in a professional manner.

Position Overview

La Mota is seeking a high-performing, accountable, and results-driven Store Manager to lead daily dispensary operations. This role carries full responsibility for store performance, compliance, team development, and operational execution.

The Store Manager is accountable for sales growth, inventory accuracy, production standards, staff leadership, and regulatory adherence. This individual sets the tone for culture, discipline, and customer experience while driving measurable results.

Key Responsibilities

1. Sales & Performance Leadership

Own store-level revenue goals, KPIs, and profitability targets.

Analyze daily, weekly, and monthly sales trends to drive growth.

Execute promotions, loyalty initiatives, and in-house brand campaigns.

Monitor AOV, unit movement, and margin performance.

Develop strategies to increase repeat business and customer retention.

2. Team Leadership & Accountability

Recruit, train, and develop budtenders and keyholders.

Enforce task completion, production targets, and service standards.

Conduct performance reviews and coaching sessions.

Build a culture of professionalism, reliability, and accountability.

Ensure proper staffing and scheduling to support business needs.

3. Compliance & Audit Oversight

Maintain strict adherence to all state and local cannabis regulations.

Ensure 100% compliance with ID verification, transaction accuracy, and inventory documentation.

Lead internal audits and prepare for state inspections.

Monitor METRC (Oregon)/BIOTRACK (New Mexico) accuracy.

Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies immediately.

4. Inventory & Production Management

Oversee inventory counts, receiving, and reconciliation.

Ensure preroll production goals are met daily and consistently.

Monitor back-of-house organization and security standards.

Manage aging inventory strategies and product rotation.

Protect store margins through proper pricing execution.

5. Operational Excellence

Oversee opening and closing procedures.

Maintain clean, organized, and brand-aligned store presentation.

Ensure POS accuracy and cash handling standards.

Basic IT troubleshooting skills, including setting up bluetooth and network connections (scanners, internet, Zebra, and receipt printers)

Maintain proper documentation in Google Drive and company systems.

Collaborate with district and executive leadership.

6. Customer Experience

Lead by example in delivering exceptional customer service.

Address escalated customer concerns professionally.

Ensure a welcoming, compliant, and elevated retail environment.

Promote brand loyalty and in-house product education.

Qualifications

2–3+ years retail management experience (cannabis preferred).
